With over a decade of experience capturing campaigns for global fashion brands, Michelle van Dijk has built a career rooted in creative excellence and spiritual depth. Her work is known for its unique aesthetic, intimate storytelling, and evocative use of natural light and landscape. Driven by an intuitive gift for discovering rare, soulful locations around the world, Michelle weaves each shoot into a visual narrative that feels both timeless and deeply personal.
Beyond her lens, Michelle’s creative process is grounded in a reverence for the land, a connection to spirit, and the power of intentionality. Her concepts are born from a place of inner listening—responding to the places that call her, the stories that want to be told, and the archetypes that rise through women’s bodies and voices.
This fusion of photography and inner work has led Michelle to expand her mission. Together with her business partner and sister Avery Swail, she co-creates Retreats in Flow—a global community and platform devoted to creative expression, healing, and feminine leadership. Through these immersive retreats, Michelle holds space for emerging female photographers, offering not only her technical wisdom but also the breathwork, rituals, and sacred practices that have shaped her own journey.
At the heart of Michelle’s work is a commitment to dismantling old paradigms of competition between women and to replacing them with spaces of safety, sisterhood, and collaboration—where creative voices can rise in their full, untamed power.
